Since the late 1960s, Armco Crash barriers have emerged as a highly effective solution for safeguarding individuals in the event of collisions during F1 races. Their success in reducing fatalities was so significant that they were subsequently implemented on motorway networks as a protective measure against accidents.

 

Armco barriers are now commonly used in Formula 1 racing and many other forms of motorsport. Extensive safety testing ensures that in the event of a vehicle colliding with the barriers, the impact directs the vehicle along their line, preventing flips or turns.
